The Washington DC Area Film Critics Association has just listed its winners and looks like they've inclined towards David Fincher's "The Social Network" and Christopher Nolan's "Inception" as these two (almost) swept the entire awards in all categories. With "The Social Network" gathering 3 awards as compared to 4 by "Inception", it seems like these two shared equal significance in the preference of the 39 members strong film critics.
Although "Inception" top the WAFCA with the most wins, "The Social Network" was the one that collected the major accolades with Best Film, Best Director, and Best Adapted Screenplay.
With the award season's progress thus far, it seems like David Fincher's film is leading the race ahead of the Oscars with a few trailing right behind (like Nolan's). On a side note, Christian Bale's great run so far at acing the Best Supporting Actor category puts him in the hot seat of favourites as he looks like he's got it secured till the Oscars, possibly capable of pulling off a Christoph Waltz trend this year.
