The Sound of TRON LEGACY

Most of the big budget blockbusters are often well embraced by fans with their admiration for all the special effects and intense action sequences conjured up with spectacular images and such. What most people usually don't see (or hear rather) is the audio work performed by these talented sound professionals. Because every gunshot fired will sound as exhilarating as it looks on the silver screen, without the "BANG" you don't enjoy the heart-thumping sensation.

TRON LEGACY is one such upcoming audio-visual treat to all you special effects lovers and here's an exclusive interview with its Sound Re-Recording Mixer Gary Rizzo, Supervising Sound Editor Gwen Yates Whittle, and Sound Designer Steve Boeddeker.

Check out how they've actually pieced together sounds of real Ducati motorcycles and synthetic sound in the audio production process.

TRON LEGACY opens in cinemas on both 2D and 3D formats 16 December.

  1. T:L's trailer is, for me, the most annoying trailer in film history. I mean that. It made me hate the movie, before I've even seen it.

  3. @George Was it the sound in the trailer or some other elements? Do share! I've yet to come into contact with TRON LEGACY, so I'm open to all opinions. =D

@JEMSEN Yes it looks visually enticing, but of course we'll have to wait till we watch it before we can say for sure. =)
