2011 Orange BAFA Winners

14 for "The King's Speech", 12 for "Black Swan", 9 for "Inception", 8 each for "127 Hours" and "True Grit", and 6 for "The Social Network".

What am I talking about? The Oscars?

Of course not, it's the 2011 Orange British Academy Film Awards!

It is not any special wonder that "The King's Speech" leads the race with a whooping 14 nominations, being a British film. The real twist of surprise comes from how undermined "The Social Network" is here even right after being babied by the HFPA. "True Grit" likewise, came into the limelight after being snubbed by the HFPA. With 8 nominations, this brings it to the same starting line as Danny Boyle's "127 Hours". Speaking of which, Boyle is now in the run for Best Director!

Also an interesting category is the Orange Wednesdays Rising Award where it is voted by the public. All its nominees are pristine candidates. Tough call to make.
