We all know that Steven Spielberg has been a really active man in the film industry these days. Besides being onboard several big budget productions as a Producer (Super 8, Transformers 3, Cowboys & Aliens, Real Steel, etc.), he's also slated to direct his upcoming motion capture adaptation of the Belgium comic character Tintin. Much as it's a Spielberg film, there's this thing about a motion capture feature that doesn't get people excited.
Just when we thought that his workload for this year is about all, the newly released first trailer of Spielberg's War Horse reminds us that he's still got time to be on the Director's chair for a live-action feature.
Looking very much likely to be an Oscar bait, Spielberg's World War I drama looks to be a sappy affair between a Young man, Albert, and his horse, Joey. With the war enlisting the services of Joey, it seems to appeal with an element of pure heart and innocence that is much in line with an Amblin and DreamWorks production.
Scored by John Williams and based upon a novel by Michael Morpurgo, this looks good on paper so far.

War Horse is scheduled for release this Christmas.
