Robot Boxing

Technology is the future, these days.

We've got computers crunching our complex data and iPhones syncing our daily lives, indisputably there is a lot of reliance on electronics and technology. Inch by inch technology will invade deeper into human activities, even physical sports for example. Boxing, robot boxing. So if you're a boxer and you've got to select a robot, what would be the main essential feature you're looking out for?

Unless you're Wolverine whose bones are made of steel, I guess having a balanced plate of armour would be a key feature to have. One that isn't too thick and too thin, the right mix between impact sustainability and agility.

I guess I'm one who believes that defense is the best form of offense. Not style.

Perseverance and patience wins the match, keeping your opponent at bay and frustrating him constantly by not yielding easily to his tactical blows. Never allowing your guard down and keep your chin down, bounce about to keep yourself agile and unpredictable.

That should help to improve your odds of winning tremendously.

Speaking of which, Real Steel (starring Hugh Jackman) is slated for an upcoming release and it seems like a great film with the futuristic sport at its core. Not forgetting that Jackman's presence highly elevates the feel and intensity of the film.

A gritty, white-knuckle, action ride set in the near-future, where the sport of boxing has gone hi-tech, “Real Steel” stars Hugh Jackman as Charlie Kenton, a washed-up fighter who lost his chance at a title when 2000-pound, 8-foot-tall steel robots took over the ring. Now, nothing but a small-time promoter, Charlie earns just enough money piecing together low-end bots from scrap metal to get from one underground boxing venue to the next. When Charlie hits rock bottom, he reluctantly teams up with his estranged son Max (Dakota Goyo) to build and train a championship contender. As the stakes in the brutal, no-holds-barred arena are raised, Charlie and Max, against all odds, get one last shot at a comeback.
